Flowers have always signified something special about the person they are given to – that they’re admired, special, loved… Flowers themselves are an indulgence – they don’t serve any purpose besides looking pretty (well, OK some do provide honey for bees). Maybe that’s why they are given when nothing else will do, no other practical gift will say exactly what flowers will. Whether hand-picked from a garden or in this modern world ordered online through a florist who delivers it at the lucky girl’s doorstep (ah, technology), flowers are always welcome!
